The JASPER JAMES RAY TEST

In 1955 J.J.Ray listed 162 New Testament references where he had noticed changes or omissions in modern Bible versions, as compared with the Authorised Version, which is based on what is known as the Received (Greek)Text.

Since J.J.Ray researched the subject, many more instances of textual corruption have come to light in new translations, and the list was soon enlarged to a set of 200 references, with which anyone could check the extent to which a modern version differs from the A.V.

The 300+ references listed below are based on the Ray Test, and while there are many more such variants in modern Bible versions than are listed here (The Trinitarian Bible Society has published a list of 575), they provide a quick and effective means of verifying the essentially corrupt nature of many modern versions.

All references below are from the Authorised Version (also known as the King James Version, and referred to as the AV or KJV).

Modern versions delete parts underlined, and change *words inside asterisks*.

Changes, including partial omission, relating specifically to names or titles of Jesus are *underlined within asterisks*.

A # symbol indicates that the NIV (New International Version) does not delete where other versions do, but still may *change* the meaning.
